Care & Maintenance

Rust and dirt left on the tool can reduce its original performance and quality. We recommend cleaning it regularly and using/storing it in conditions that help prevent rust.

After use, wipe off any dirt and moisture from the tool, especially around the blades, and store it indoors in a dedicated sheath or tool box. Applying a light coat of blade oil (cooking oil is also fine) while wiping will help protect the metal and make it less likely to rust.

We also offer specialized maintenance products that make it easy to thoroughly remove built-up dirt and rust.

Handling Precautions

This product is a gardening tool designed only for cutting plant material. It should not be used to cut anything other than plants.

Even with plants, attempting to cut very dry wood with little moisture, bamboo, or hard, frozen branches (such as in cold climates) may damage the blades, so please use with care.

Do not use this tool to cut artificial flowers, wire, or plastic.
